Fire Inspections

Video Transcript

Improving the fire and life safety of your community is your agency's core mission. First Due is here to support that mission with a powerful inspection solution that is easy to use, easy to manage, and easy to access. Our best-in-breed inspection module delivers everything you need for conducting fire and life safety inspections both online and offline. It's the ideal system for managing your entire inspection program.

Upon commencement of an inspection, the inspector can easily update the occupancy details, contacts, and the pre-plan itself. The inspection is conducted using agency-generated forms that are created from scratch or imported directly into First Due. The highly intuitive format helps your inspectors save valuable time while documenting their findings. There’s a friendly search field that helps you find the exact checklist item you’re looking for—very helpful for longer, highly comprehensive inspection forms. Navigation of an inspection checklist is a breeze; you can advance by scrolling or simply selecting the section you need to get to quickly.

During the inspection, remarks can be entered, and adding images from your device’s camera is a snap. Each inspection question can also be referenced to the fire code adopted by your jurisdiction. If multiple occurrences of a violation are observed, the checklist lets you easily add them for accurate accounting. Before completing the inspection, the inspector can review not only current violations but also previous violations to assess trends and address persistent issues. Once signatures are captured, the inspection report—including any images and attachments—can be emailed directly to the responsible parties. The layout of your form, including your department logo and required text, is designed by you.

From this page, follow-up inspections can be scheduled if weather or other factors preclude performing an on-site inspection. First Due gives you the power to conduct a virtual inspection with the business owner or manager using embedded video technology. This feature is also perfect for re-inspections. The inspection organizer enables you to individually or in bulk schedule inspections, modify the inspection schedule, and define which properties are inspectable.

The inspections list delivers numerous filters to help you drill down into your scheduled and historical inspections. You can even start or schedule an inspection directly from this list. Each inspector has their own personalized table, "My Inspections." Ample filters give the user control over this table and let them start an inspection with just one click. Whenever your fire code is updated, making changes to your inspection forms is easy. The code set can be updated within your Code Organizer, and those updates can be associated with relevant checklist items.

With easy-to-use reporting tools, you’re able to analyze inspection progress, violations, and other inspection-related data, so you can measure performance and share the story about the impact you’re making in your community. First Due is here to support your mission of fire and life safety. Isn’t it time to harness the power and versatility of the First Due inspection module to propel your community risk reduction efforts to the next level? Data drives the 21st-century fire service; First Due puts you in the driver’s seat with our inspection solution.
